Referral guide

Please note you will require a referral from a GP to access MINDS and allow for Medicare rebates.

Referrers will need make a referral letter to Dr Liz Tovey and the MINDS team, and include in the referral "psychiatrist and other allied health assessment of autism/other complex neurodevelopmental disorder". Referral to our psychiatrist allows for psychiatry Medicare rebates.

Clients under 25 can receive additional Medicare rebates under the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorder scheme. Clients over 25 can access further allied health rebates by also obtaining a Mental Health Care Plan and Chronic Health Management Plan (at their GP's discretion). Please note that payments must be made in full, and only after receipts are provided to make Medicare rebate claims. We do not bulk bill, or have Medicare processing facilities at our service.

If clients are on an existing NDIS plan, we may be able to bill allied health practitioner portion directly to your plan with a signed service agreement. Third-party payers will also need to sign a service agreement.

Potential referrers can download our flyer/handout for potential clients here or contact us to post some printed flyers
