What we offer
At MINDS, we understand that a thorough assessment and accurate diagnosis is the first step to getting the right support for individuals with complex neurodevelopmental conditions. Assessment by a multidisciplinary team is considered best-practice for clients with more complex or unclear presentations. However, current diagnostic pathways often involve multiple appointments over several months, with different practitioners with long waitlists, creating significant disruption, stress and impacting early intervention.
MINDS addresses this gap by providing a structured, same-day assessment at one location for up to 4 clients a day by a team collaboratively working together to formulate the diagnosis and recommendations. After a referral eligibility determination and booking, each client/family will meet and rotate through specialists below.

Medical Assessment
Conducted by a psychiatrist to assess mental health, medical, and developmental history.

Autism Behaviour Testing
Conducted by a psychologist using diagnostic tools to assess social, sensory differences and behaviour related to autism

Cognitive Assessment
Conducted by a clinical neuropsychologist to assess intellectual functioning, and identify cognitive and learning strengths and needs.

Speech Pathology Assessment
Conducted by a speech pathologist focusing on social-communication skills and expressive/receptive language development.

Optional: Occupational Therapy/Functional Capacity Assessment
There is an option to add an occupational therapy assessment for clients requiring additional insights into motor and other functional skills.

Consensus Meeting
After assessments, our experienced team works together to reach a consensus and provide clear, practical strategies and recommendations

Why Choose Us?
Fees and Rebates
We are committed to minimising out of pocket expenses as much as possible, and to make multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments more accessible for the wider community. Our fee structure has been designed with this in mind and is a significant cost saving compared to seeing each clinician individually.
Medicare rebates are available with a GP referral referring for psychiatrist and allied health assessment and review. If you are currently supported by the NDIS, you may be able to use your funding towards the allied health assessments as part of the assessment.
